Dragons Take Flight 2007

*Music and a blast of pyro signal the start of Dragons Take Flight*

Kyoko: Hello and welcome to Dragon Isle Joshi Pro, and Dragons Take Flight. I'm Kyoko Kuronaga, and with me as always is JC Spitfire.

JC: Good evening and welcome! This is the first DI-Joshi show of the year, in fact the first full show recorded to be delivered to you, our home audience. We have a total of five matches coming your way tonight... three singles matches, a triple threat, and to top things off, a tag team match!

Kyoko: It looks like they're already getting ready to start the first match, which is Alex "Wolf" Kendall vs Yukiyasha.

JC: We know that both of them are excellent technical wrestlers, and the Wolf is sure to have most of the crowd, led by the Pack, on her side. But she can't afford to take the snow demon lightly - Yukiyasha is an accomplished technical wrestler and an expert of the sleeper - if she manages to hit that Cold Snap sleeper suplex, then Kendall is going to be in trouble.

Kyoko: True, the two of them are evenly matched, I must say. Kendall has to watch out for the Cold Snap and the Snowfall, but Yukiyasha also has to be wary of the Wolf's array of wrist clutch suplexes and arm submissions. This should prove to be an exciting match!

JC: Looks like both wrestlers have entered the ring, so let's get to the action!

JC: She got her! More than twenty minutes of gruelling action, but the Wolf emerges victorious...

Kyoko: They really pushed each other to the limit, there. In the end, I think Kendall's gameplan made the difference. She started working on Yukiyasha's arm early in the match, and while she couldn't get her to tap out, it did make her unable to escape that final wristclutch suplex. Not to mention it would have made those Sleepers and the 'Snowfall' northern lights bomb less devastating than usual, allowing her to escape more than a few near falls.

JC: The game plan worked, but that was far from an easy victory, just look at her!

Alex Kendall rolls out of the ring, barely able to stand, and raises her hand again in victory. She points to the crowd, where a few Pack members respond with a collective howl! Yukiyasha watches from the ring for a moment and exits, a dark look on her face.

Kyoko: Next up we have a match between Daciana Boroi and Kurohoshi.

JC: These two are no strangers to each other. The two faced off shortly after Daciana's debut last year as a part of the DI-Joshi AI tournament. They crossed paths a few times since, among others when Dragon Isle Joshi visited Los Angeles, taking part in LAWL's HaLAWLoween show. Then, as so often, Kurohoshi managed to use her speed and cunning to catch Daciana off guard and snatch the victory in a hard fought match.

Kyoko: Kurohoshi might have the edge when it comes to speed and mind games, but Daciana's power and technical ability should never be overlooked. She is not far from six feet tall and a champion amateur wrestler from her days at the University Transilvania in her native Romania.

JC: It's very much a game of cat and mouse, and someone like Daciana Boroi is never far from victory... she just has to catch the ever elusive Kurohoshi.

As soon as the bell sounds, Kurohoshi slides out of the ring and backs halfway up the ramp. Daciana wipes the blood from her eyes and the two have a short staredown before Kurohoshi turns and leaves.

Kyoko: Another point in the record books for Kurohoshi, who after over fifteen minutes of action managed to hit the Blackstar Suplex and keep Daciana Boroi from kicking out.

JC: Not only fifteen minutes of wrestling... Daciana was bleeding for at least fourteen of those. Did you see how Kurohoshi lured Daciana to the corner right from the bell and managed to bust her open with that kick? That had to be planned! Her boots should be examined for a ninja blade or something!

Kyoko: I think they were examined before the match, JC. But that was definitely planned by Kurohoshi, and her martial arts skills might have been enough to hit a kick like that without any illegal object being used. Kurohoshi then spent most of the match pinpointing that cut on Daciana's head with a vicious array of kicks. That might just have been enough to tip the scales in her favour as bleeding like that for almost fifteen minutes of wrestling will wear anyone down.

JC: Devious ninja tactics, for sure... and Daciana looks furious. I don't think this is nearly over between them...

Backstage, in a locker room. On a table sits a mannequin head, the parts of its face and neck that are visible splattered with dark red paint. On the head is a tiger mask of black and purple, the mask of Kageneko. The camera lingers on the mask for a moment and pans to the person standing next to it, wearing black and gold and with a golden tiger mask - Tiger Queen. She rests her hand on the head for a moment and pats it, before turning to face the camera.

Tiger Queen: See what happens to those who cross me. See what happens to those who trespass on my kingdom. Kat... I see you found a new face, and took one of my moves as your own into your exile. And now, others travel on your path. You can run, little cat. But you cannot hide from a stalking tiger. Neither can your friends... neither can anyone.

The camera pans to the other side of Tiger Queen, where a few more mannequin heads are set up, empty and waiting, and fades to black.

Kyoko: ...

JC: ...

JC: I'm not sure, but I think Tiger Queen just put the entire roster on notice. Man, girl's taken a nose dive off the deep end!

Kyoko: She seemed serious enough, too. I don't think anything good is going to come out of it...

JC: Serious? Seriously off her rocker! *ahem* Moving on... please?

Kyoko: Hm? Right, next up we have a triple threat match. Carey Ravin, Meifeng and Eris Byrne square off in a one-fall match. Carey Ravin and Eris Byrne have been fighting since last year, at the end of the DI-Joshi AI tournament.

JC: Carey and Eris were a team, together with Lady Charon. But Eris double-crossed them in the tournament finals when Charon went up against Styx... Charon won the match, and the tournament, but Styx got backup from the rest of HAVOC after the match...

Kyoko: And in the brawl that ensued, Eris turned on her friends and laid Carey out with her 'Kiss of Death' superkick. It all ended up with Charon not being able to enjoy her victory as she's still out of action from the injury HAVOC caused her that day.

JC: Meifeng was added to the match only recently - she made her DI-Joshi debut only a few months ago and beat Satomi Kusaka with a beautiful huracanrana. After that, she demanded to be put on the show... and I guess the boss agreed.

Kyoko: With Carey and Eris in the ring, the match was already promising to be fast-paced and hard-hitting, as both wrestlers are skilled strikers and high flyers, and Meifeng only enhances that further.

JC: Absolutely... she's proven to be an excellent high flyer and a competent striker and wrestler. All she really lacks is experience... it'll be interesting to see if she can keep up with the blood feud, or if she gets caught in the middle.

Kyoko: Looks like the match is about to start...

Medical staff rush into the ring and start tending to Meifeng, as Carey backs off... and turns around just in time to duck a superkick from Eris! Carey goes to hit one of her own, but Eris rolls out of the ring, laughing as she backs up the ramp where the rest of HAVOC - Malice Tsukimura, Serpent Miyuki, Hailey Stone and Styx - have come out.

Kyoko: Meifeng looks to be hurt bad! Carey was getting really fired up there, I think she didn't see who she got locked into the Ravin Wings.

JC: Bad luck for Meifeng, in that case! It's hard to tell already, but she's definitely hurt her shoulder... we'll try to get you an update on her condition as soon as possible.

Kyoko: Luckily for Carey, all the people in the ring to help Meifeng seems to mean that HAVOC are gonna have to stay back as well - they certainly look ready for a post-match attack.

On the ramp, HAVOC are mouthing off at Carey, who's still in the ring watching over Meifeng. Finally, Meifeng is helped out of the ring and to the back, and Carey follows. Shortly thereafter, HAVOC leave as well, apart from Hailey Stone who comes down to the ring as her match is up next.

JC: Hailey looks all warmed up and itching to go... I don't envy the new girl.

Kyoko: Next up is Dragon Isle Joshi newcomer, Eimi Sawada, taking on HAVOC member Hailey Stone. We don't know much about Eimi yet, but she seems unlikely to outpower Hailey Stone. Hailey is only 23 years old and hails from New York City...

JC: ...not to mention that she's almost as tall as Daciana Boroi, probably packs a little more muscle, and used to be a bouncer. The girl knows how to brawl with the best of them, and knows how to hit a nasty powerbomb, including her running powerbomb called "Hailey's Comet".

Kyoko: Eimi, or "AMY" as she seems to prefer, is even younger and about six inches shorter, so if she's gonna have much chance she's going to have to outclass Hailey when it comes to speed and technical wrestling...

JC: Shouldn't be that hard.

Kyoko: *ahem* Looks like the match is about to start... let's get down to the action and find out.

JC: Chalk one up for HAVOC, it's over!

Kyoko: Hailey gets the pin after a chokeslam, but she certainly had to work for that one...

JC: I think she took Eimi lightly at the start of the match there, but Eimi fought back really well. I thought she'd get the win when she countered that power bomb.

Kyoko: Eimi was definitely building momentum, but Hailey managed to catch her with that chokeslam. Still, she made a good effort, and I'm looking forward to see what she'll do with a bit more experience.

We go backstage just as Hailey meets up with the rest of HAVOC after the match.

Malice Tsukimura: Nicely done, Hailey. Malice turns to the camera Okay, listen up. Some of you don't know who we are, so let's make things simple. We're HAVOC. Hailey Stone, who you just witnessed beat some girl senseless. Eris Byrne, who's gonna break new ground - and new faces - for us in OG-Joshi. Styx, the true AI'06 champion. And finally, the over one year reigning Dragon Isle Joshi tag team champions, Serpent Miyuki and myself, Malice Tsukimura. In short, we are the most dominant force in Dragon Isle Joshi.

Eris: Hyde, Archer. You came up short against the champions just like we said you would, so we can see why you're running back to that LA freakshow. And Carey, don't think I'll be gone long. Watch your back, girlie... or pay the price.

Kyoko: Before we get to the last match of the evening, we have a first update on Meifeng's condition. It looks like her shoulder got badly dislocated, so while there doesn't seem to be permanent injury, she'll be out of action for a while until she heals.

JC: Man... not a good start, still. We wish Meifeng a speedy recovery and hope she'll be back with us as soon as she's healthy.

Kyoko: Next up is our main event of the evening. It is a tag team match where the Jacquelyn-Hyde Connection, Angelica Hyde and Jacquelyn Archer, take on the Jiminez Sisters, Silvia and Tonia.

JC: The sisters are fairly new to DI-Joshi, but have already established themselves to be a thorn in the side of the JHC. Both teams hail from California, Angelica and Lyn from Los Angeles where they trained with Los Angeles Women's Lucha, and the Jiminez sisters from San Diego. All four have their roots in lucha libre, with various influences.

Kyoko: Angelica and Tonia are the high flyers for their respective teams, while Lyn and Silvia work a more grounded style. Angelica has her "Halo Bomb", also known as the Code Red or Yoshi Tonic, and is quite adept at Lucha submissions. Lyn is also skilled with submissions, as well as bringing some power to the team, including her Reverse Gory Special Bomb.

JC: On the other side of the ring, Tonia is a lucha style high flyer, but she's also got some vicious kicks, including her specialty - the superkick. Silvia mixes her lucha skills with a bit of amateur wrestling, including a pretty devastating wrist clutch exploder.

Kyoko: All in all, it looks like an evenly balanced matchup. Let's get to the action...

JC: -three! Lyn manages to put away Silvia Jiminez for the three count, what a match!

Kyoko: Angelica managed to get the tag to Lyn at just the right moment, and Lyn managed to hit th- watch out!

In the ring, Tonia has just grabbed the discarded chair and hit a celebrating Angelica from behind. Lyn turns to help, but get blind-sided by Silvia who knocks her down with a lariat. Silvia motions to her sister and drags Lyn to her feet, grabbing her for the wrist clutch exploder. Tonia measures her and blasts Lyn in the back of the head with a vicious superkick, and Silvia takes her over with the Exploder. Happy with their handywork, the sisters exit the ring, Tonia grabbing a mic on the way out.

Tonia: Hey chicas... Safe trip.
